III St. Petersburg International Craft Congress
The goal of the Congress is to work out effective solutions for preservation and development of craft traditions in Russia by stimulating and developing folk crafts and creating a positive image of arts and crafts products.
Within the framework of the two-day Congress a business and culturally educational program will be arranged involving leading Russian and Western associations and organizations of craftspeople, federal and regional authorities, delegations from constituent entities of the Russian Federation, business communities, research and development enterprises, the public and media.
Within the framework of the congress and exhibition program a few international and transregional business discussions and roundtable discussions featuring leading industry experts will take place. On the margins of the Congress the exhibition of works by the best craftspeople from constituent entities of the Russian Federation, CIS and other countries will be arranged, as well as the ambitious culturally educational program.
The St. Petersburg International Craft Congress will be a platform to work out practical steps together to strengthen positions of craftsmanship and folk crafts in Russian economy and cultural life, so that these steps could not only save age-old traditions, but to create infrastructural, regulatory and economic bases for further growth as well.
