Round Table Discussion

Modern Theatre: Problems and Achievements

16:30 — 18:00
General Staff Building 6/8 Palace sq., St. Petersburg

The round table discussion  will bring together theater figures and experts in the field of theater art from Russia and several European countries.

Common Slavic roots influenced the development of the theater in the countries participating in the discussion. For example, in Poland there is a whole myth about the Russian theater school and at the same time a huge respect for Russian theater and culture. The ideas of the Russian theater school are involved in the Polish theater system, most artists build their conscious acting experience on Stanislavsky — just like in Russia; with differences in aesthetics, texts and authors intersect.

The round table discussion will be devoted to the development of theater in modern society, the cultures of the Slavic countries - adherence to traditions and, at the same time, new trends that are making their changes in theatrical art.
