General Staff Building, Third Yard 6/8 Palace sq., St. Petersburg

The Chinese film industry has made an incredible leap forward over several decades, coming in second place in the world in box office receipts and in first place in the world in the number of screens. Cooperation with China which five years ago no one thought seriously now excites many players in the market. The box office results of some Russian films in China exceeded the results in Russia, the number of requests for different services and cooperation from Chinese colleagues is steadily growing. But is it as simple as many producers in Russia believe, or is the difference in culture and business models between our two countries more serious than we think?

Where and how to look for topics of interest for viewers of both countries, whether there are "pitfalls" in financing and co-production of films, what are the most popular specialists and services in China, what the Russian industry can offer to China, how and where to look for suitable partners — we will try to find answers to these questions or at least begin to develop a roadmap together with representatives of different companies and professions in cinema, who share experience in Russian-Chinese projects and desire to further develop active cooperation between the two countries.
