In May 2018, President of Russia Vladimir Putin issued a Decree “On the National goals and strategic objectives of development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024”. The President instructed the Government to provide for the double export volume of non-resource non-energy products by 2024.
Today, the animation industry as one of the most innovative and rapidly developing industries in Russia is demonstrating enormous export potential. This is evidenced by its first considerable success on the international stage. What should be done to deliver the potential of the Russian animation to the fullest extent, how to bring new project to the global market in the most efficient way, how to arrange film production with foreign partners – all these and many other areas of concern will be focused on by the discussion panel participants.
The persons invited to take part in the discussion include top managers of the major international channels, such as Michael Hirsh, the founder of Canadian animation, CEO of media holding WOW! Unlimited Media Inс., Luca Milano, director of Rai Ragazzi, the Italian largest TV channel, Dan Marks (Great Britain), the media producer and the manager having vast experience in development of the television networks, and Catherine Branscome (USA), the head of the international distribution company. On the Russian part, the discussion will be attended by Lev Makarov, a media manager, the Deputy Director General of “STS Media” for new projects, the Director of “STS Kids” TV channel, Vera Obolonkina, the editor-in-chief of “Karusel” TV channel, the Director of the Directorate of Programs for Children and Youth “First Channel. Worldwide Network”. The discussion will be moderated by Yuliana Slashcheva, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Animation Film Association and “Soyuzmultfilm” film studio.
