The Pavlovsk palace and park ensemble was created in the heyday of Russian classicism of the end of the XVIII — beginning of the XIX centuries by a whole pleiad of famous architects and decorators of its time: C. Cameron, V. Brenna, D. Quarenghi, P. Gonzaga.

A huge collection of paintings, porcelain, bronze, furniture, carpets, sculptures are presented in the interiors of the Palace. Among the masterpieces are works by P. Rubens, K. Van-Loo, I. Martos and G. Robert.

Picturesque pictures of nature along the banks of the Slavyanka river, pastoral and classical pavilions create Pavlovsk the glory of a romantic park, the territory of which is about 600 hectares.

For more than two centuries, Pavlovsk, the great joint creation of the genius of man and nature, has given people a bewitching sense of harmony and emotional balance. This world heritage masterpiece is protected by UNESCO.

In 2018, Pavlovsk marks a significant date — the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Pavlovsk Palace Museum and Park.

In the Museum of Costume of the State Museum-Reserve "Pavlovsk" there is an exhibition "Lace and Fans. From the collection of the Pavlovsk Museum.

The exhibition is a collection of products of major Western European and domestic manufacturers.

Here you can see items of the costume, made partially or completely from lace — dresses and jackets, coats, blouses. The elegant accessories of the costume — shawls, collars, cuffs, gloves, handkerchiefs, umbrellas and handbags delight with grace. The fans placed in the exhibition are also made with the use of laces of different varieties, as well as works of painting, graphics and decorative arts.

The costume museum not only collected unique exhibits. He introduces guests to a variety of lace making techniques — needle sewing, weaving, knitting, mechanical manufacturing, and chemical engineering.
