The New Bulgarian Cinema: "My Sister's Silence"

The father leaves the family, leaving loved ones in memory of his collection of moths — symbols of female hearts, which he managed to win. Everything goes to ashes in the life of a disintegrating family: the son wants to become the author of erotic novels, and the daughter completely closes in herself and keeps all relatives at a distance. Once she unsuccessfully falls in love with a guy with a dubious reputation, so that the family has to unite again to save the girl from dangerous company. The film will be presented by Director Kiran Kolarov and producer Galina Toneva.

The screening is part of the "New Bulgarian Cinema" program, which includes a lecture and a series of screenings of Bulgarian films of recent years: "Aga" (2018, Dir. Milko Lazarov), "My Sister's Silence" (2018, Dir. Kiran Kolarov), "The Father" (2019, Dir. Kristina Grozeva and Petar Vylchanov), "3/4" (2017, Dir. Ilian Metev).

The program is held within the framework of interstate cooperation with the official support of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Moscow, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Moscow. It is included in the special program of the Forum of Slavic Cultures of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
