Gosfilmofond presents the program dedicated to the year of Theatre in Russia: film screening of the silent film “The Overcoat” directed by Georgy Kozintsev and Leonid Trauberg (1926, 66 minutes) accompanied by piano and flute.
About the film: A feature film, an eccentric tragicomedy, designated by the authors as a film play in the manner of Gogol. The plot is based on the novels by Nikolai Gogol “Nevsky Prospect” and “The Overcoat”, united by the introduction of a common character - Akakiy Akakievich Bashmachkin.
