The co-creation of museum and theatre is becoming a qualitatively new way of creating both museum and theatre and understanding their place in the modern cultural and social situation. It also allows to find a new form of dialogue with the visitor, even if it comes to working with complex and ambiguous information. It is in this context that the THEATRUM festival of museum and theatre products will be presented — a joint project of the Theatre Institute (an educational project of the Golden Mask Festival) and the Vladimir Potanin Charity Fund.
The project was launched in 2018 and is designed to draw the attention of the professional community, cultural management and the general public to the active development of the theatre, stage and performative practices in museums, galleries, reserves and similar organizations. The participants in the discussion will discuss Russian and international experience, best practices and pressing issues of developing cooperation between museums and theatres in terms of cultural production and interaction with the public and social environment.
