The round table is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the writer. Discussion of the problems in the work of V.M. Shukshin in the context of the contemporary socio-cultural situation; the place of V. M. Shukshin in the history of Russian culture of the 20th century. One of the goals of the event is to define the new approaches to analyzing the writer’s creative heritage in its anthropological and artistic aspects, to find contemporary language solutions to characterize a universally gifted personality. The roundtable discussion will be accompanied by a photo exhibition, dedicated to life and work of V.M. Shukshin (from the archives of Saint Petersburg State University). The session will end with a performance of the Saint Petersburg State University Folklore Ensemble, and performances of actors from Saint Petersburg theatres that feature productions based on V.M. Shukshin’s works.
The session will be attended by Saint Petersburg writers and authors, and school student`s winners of the All-Russian Olympiad.
The proceedings of the roundtable discussion will be published in Modern Humanities Success and the Siberian Philological Forum (included in the Russian Science Citation Index).
