Over 50 Agreements Signed at Business Venue of Forum

Russian and foreign participants of the VIII Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum have agreed on cooperation in the area of culture and arts, specifically on the organization of joint projects and tours, preservation of cultural heritage sites, staging various events in Russia and abroad.


The official agreement ratification ceremonies took place at the Russian Museum of Ethnography on November 14-16, 2019.

On November 14, the State Russian Museum (Saint Petersburg) entered into agreements on cooperation with the Primorye State Picture Gallery (Vladivostok), with the Mayakovsky Central City Public Library (Saint Petersburg), with the Academic Maly Drama Theatre — Theatre of Europe (Saint Petersburg), and with the Ministry of Culture, Media and Ethnic Affairs of the Republic of Mari El.

The Director of the State Russian Museum Vladimir Gusev signed one other agreement with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Buryatia Soelma Dagaeva. A virtual branch of the Russian Museum will be established at the Sampilov National Art Museum in Ulan-Ude.

The State Russian Museum, the Administration of Kemerovo Region legally represented by the Department of Culture and National Policy, and Kemerovo State Institute of Culture ratified a tripartite agreement. The parties intend to collaborate in the areas of education, science, and culture.

On the first day of the Business Venue's operation, a series of agreements related to the implementation of the international cultural project "Russian Seasons" of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation had been ratified. In 2020, the project will be hosted by France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Thus, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Committee on Culture of Saint Petersburg signed a roadmap for the "Russian Seasons" project in 2020. The signatories to the document were Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Pavel Stepanov and Chairman of the Committee on Culture of Saint Petersburg Konstantin Sukhenko.

In the lead-up to the "Russian Seasons" in France, the touring agreements were concluded by the Saint Petersburg State Theatre "Music Hall" and the City Hall of Nice. Cultural and social project "Theatrical Russia" finalized an agreement with the Provence — Alpes — Cote d'Azur region and the City of Avignon, with Le théâtre Nono and Le théâtre Golovine upon staging"Russian Avignon" Theatre Festival.

The leadership of "Russian Seasons" independent non-profit-making organization engaged in promoting concert activities concluded agreements with the Belgian Centre of Fine Arts "BOZAR" and with the "Spasskaya Tower" International Cultural Centre. Also, the Centre of Film Festivals and International Programs and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes agreed on staging the Festival of Russian Art in Cannes.

On the first day of the Forum, an agreement was signed between the Bakhrushin State Central Theatre Museumand the Zaraysk Kremlin State Museum-Reserve. Vasily Polenov State Memorial Historical, Artistic and Natural Museum-Reserve and Educational and Research Institute of the Russian Language and Culture at the Institute of Foreign Languages of Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China) documented their intentions to interact and facilitate the development of culture and arts in Russia and China.

The National Library of Belarus agreed on cooperation with the Margarita Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature. Their plans include joint projects in the area of culture and education, in the field of library and information services, in the digitization of cultural heritage and the automation of library and bibliographic workflow.

Artistic and Production Association "Soyuzmultfilm Animation Studio" signed an agreement with the historic-architectural and art museum-reserve "Kazan Kremlin" state-financed institution, as well as a trilateral agreement with the ZAO "Mediapark Southern Region" Fund and Don State Technical University. The latter document is dedicated to the establishing the "Magika Technopark" regional resource centre.

On November 15, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova signed a number of agreements, namely on the partnership with the Russian National Museum of Music, with the "Russian Seasons" INPO, as well as with the "Peace and Harmony" Charity Foundation for Social Initiatives. Along with its partners, Rossotrudnichestvo will gear up and carry out overseas activities in the area of culture.

St. Petersburg State Museum-Institute of the Roerich Family reached an agreement with the House-Museum of the Roerich Family in Ulaanbaatar on establishing the International Institute of Comprehensive Research, Cultural and Socio-Economic Cooperation and Development named after Nicholas Roerich. The Museum-Institute signed a number of agreements with the Roerich Heritage International Charity Fund, the Roerich-Bira Foundation, the Union of Museums of Russia, the World Club of Petersburgers, and Hunnu International Motorclub. The documents relate to the arranging of "The Way of Blessing" car rally en route from Ulaanbaatar to Saint Petersburg and back to Ulaanbaatar that is scheduled for the summer of 2020 and dedicated to the 85th Anniversary of the Roerich Pact.

The Saint Petersburg State University of Film and Television signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of film education with the "Chengdu Wuhou Industrial Development – Management Investment Group" OOO (Chengdu, China), an agreement to jointly stage the All-Russian Debutant Pitching at the 2020 "PiterKit" International Student Film Festival with the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, as well as a trilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of cinematography and film education with the Communication University of China and «Silk Road Media» company.

On the second day of the Cultural Forum, Memorandum of Understanding was concluded between the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China. The document on consolidation of cooperation efforts in the area of coordinating activities in the field of tourism was signed by Head of Russian Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism) Zarina Doguzova and Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China Zhang Xu.

Also within the Forum's framework, agreements were signed on staging the "Literary Vyborg - Book Variety" children's festival, on cooperation between the Russian Museum of Ethnography and the Kemerovo Regional Museum of Local Lore.

The International "Forum of Slavic Cultures" Fund (Slovenia) will cooperate with the Margarita Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature, and propagate the documentary heritage, promote and spread a collection of 100 Slavonic novels in Russian regions along with the Russian National Library.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Archives of the Komi Republic signed a range of agreements with the International "Forum of Slavic Cultures" Fund, with "Russian Seasons" INPO, with the State Tretyakov Gallery, and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. In the course of the Forum, the "Ugor" Centre for Cultural Initiatives (Komi Republic), the Innovative Cultural Centre (Kaluga), Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Margarita Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature, National Library of Belarus, and the Russian State Library of Arts agreed to partner.

An agreement on artistic collaboration was signed between the Russian State Circus Company and the "Belarusian State Circus" State Entertainment Institution. The Saint Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise "Saint Petersburg Information and Analytical Centre" and "Kulturnaya Stolitsa" OOO agreed on cooperation within the framework of the BEST.Petersburg initiative, a pioneering project in the area of culture and tourism uniting municipal authorities and entrepreneurs.

The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage (TICCIH) and the Expert Council for Industrial Heritage at the Agency for Management and Use of Historical and Cultural Monuments at the Ministry of Culture (AUIPIK) ratified an agreement on the establishment of a TICCIH National Committee in Russia.

Numerous agreements relate to the development of inter-regional collaboration between Russian and foreign cultural institutions. A tripartite agreement was concluded by the Russian-Chinese Foundation for the Development of Culture, Education and Science, City Hall of Klin, and the Klin Children's Art School named after Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The Saint Petersburg Children's Music School No 37 and Sillamäe Muusikakool (Estonia) agreed to partner.

The Tchaikovsky State House-Museum (Klin, Moscow Oblast) and the "Tchaikovsky" Centre of Musical Culture (Saint Petersburg) signed an agreement on cooperation aimed to propagate and promote the world's musical oeuvre of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The State Monument Museum "St. Isaac's Cathedral" entered into an agreement with the Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts and the Mordovian Erzia Museum of Visual Arts. 

In the framework of long-standing cooperation, the St. Petersburg Mussorgsky State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (Mikhailovsky Theatre) and Ardani Artists Management Inc. signed an agreement to arrange a tour of the Mikhailovsky Theatre's ballet troupe and orchestra in the United States in 2020-2021.

On November 16, the Sverdlovsk State Philharmonic and the RCCR Projects GmbH (Germany) agreed to collaborate in the field of classical music and youth cultural exchange. The "Kizhi" State Historical-Architectural and Ethnographic Museum-Reserve and the Belarusian State Museum of Rural Architecture and Life documented their intentions to cooperate.

The State Historical Museum of Religion signed documents with the Museum of Icons (Frankfurt) and the State Academic Publishing House of China. The projects LAKRUS (Russia) and ARHCLUB (Russia) made an agreement to mount a photo exhibition «Viva Cuba — 500 Years of Havana".

The Business Venue of the VIII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum incorporated over 30 events: round tables, ratifications of agreements, public talks, and master classes.
