Abdulrahman Al-Ishaq

The Head of Public Art at Qatar Museums (QM). As part of his role, he is entrusted with developing a holistic Public Art programme that achieves the strategic priorities of QM, with emphasis on organic growth and cultural development.

Additionally, Abdulrahman is tasked with creating and managing long-lasting partnerships with various public and private entities, as well as local and international artists. Furthermore, Abdulrahman oversees the conservation and development of QM’s Public Art collection.

An architect and an urbanist by training, Abdulrahman was the Master Planning Manager at Lusail City and the custodian of an array of high-profile projects, working across multiple scales ranging from master planning to street furniture. His international experience includes working on academic projects in New York (US) and Rio De Janeiro (Brazil).

Abdulrahman received his MS in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in the US and his BS in Architectural Engineering from Ajman University of Science and Technology in the UAE. He is a licensed ‘Global Sustainability Assessment System’ (GSAS) Green professional and was a board member of GORD — the Gulf Organization for Research and Development.
