Alexander Leontyev is the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for State Inspection, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments (KGIOP).
Education: the Leningrad Construction and Architecture College (1977, with honors) with a degree in Architecture; the Leningrad Civil Engineering Institute with a degree in Architecture (1986).
Professional activities:
SRPO Resvavrator (1979–1988) — architect; the Lenproektrestavratsiya Institute (1988–2009) — chief project architect, head of the design workshop, chief architect, author of restoration projects for the five domes and interiors of the Royal Church Museum, the Coat-of-Arms Pavilion and restoration of the interiors of the Grand Peterhof Palace, the Gothic Сhapel, the Farm Palace in Alexandria Park and other monuments of Peterhof and St. Petersburg. In 1999, he was certified by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation as "Architect-Restorer of the Highest Category." The Peterhof State Museum-Reserve (2009–2012) — chief architect. The Committee for State Inspection, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments (2012–2013) — Deputy Chairman of KGIOP, (2013 to the present) First Deputy Chairman of KGIOP. Teaching: St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (since 2012) — head of the training workshop, professor of the Department of Architectural and Urban Planning Heritage.
Social work:
Member of the Union of Architects of the Russian Federation since 2004; Member of the Council for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage under the Government of St. Petersburg; Member of the City Planning Council of St. Petersburg; Honorary Member of the Union of Restorers of Russia.
Awards:
Commendation from the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation "For a great contribution to the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of Russia" (2013); commendation from the Governor of St. Petersburg (2018); "Honorary Restorer of St. Petersburg" I degree (2014). Author of more than twenty articles on the history and restoration of cultural heritage objects and of the book co-authored with O. M. Kormiltseva and M. A. Petrova "Uspet Porabotat Dlya Vechnosti (In Time to Work for the Eternity). Belekhov N. N., Petrov A. N., Petrova Y. N." (2009).
