Andrea Weniger

Head of Education and Art Mediation Department, Hamburg Kunsthalle.
Studied art and culture history, Romance philology and pedagogy in Augsburg and Lyon (undergraduate program), then completed her master's degree in the field of "Museums and exhibition activities" in Oldenburg. In 2015 she defended her Ph.D. thesis on Bremen art collectors and collections at the beginning of the 19th century at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Andrea Weniger combined her dissertation work with the mediator activities at the Center for Museum Pedagogy, the Bavarian State Paintings Collections, and also at the Municipal Gallery in Lenbachhaus (art museum in the Lenbachhouse) in Munich. From 2015 to 2017 she completed her scientific internship at the State Art Gallery in Karlsruhe (State Kunsthalle), from 2017 to 2019 she was in charge of Visitor Services and Mediation Programs Department at the House of the Arts in Munich, and from 2019 to 2020 she was responsible for the scientific collections digital mediation at the State Museum of Natural History Karlsruhe. Since June 2020, Andrea Weniger has been the Head of the Education and Mediation Department of the Hamburg Kunsthalle.
