Was born on 28.08.1941, in 1974 graduated from the Repin Institute of Art, Sculpture and Architecture with a degree in Theory and History of Fine Arts.
Mr. Stolyarov has been working at the State Russian Museum since 1972. Since 1990 he has served as the head of the Russian Center of Museum Pedagogy and Children’s Creativity of the Russian Museum. From 1997 to 2016 he combined his work at the museum with teaching at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, serving as the Chairman of the Department of Art Education and Museum Pedagogy.
In 1994 – 2016 completed internships in Museum Management at the following US museums: The Metropolitan Museum of Arts (New York), the National Art Gallery (Washington D.C.), the Art Institute (Chicago), the Museum of Fine Arts (Atlanta), and others. He has participated in scientific and exhibition projects with museums of Germany, the UK, Estonia, Finland, the Paul Getty Foundation (Los Angeles), George Soros Foundation (US), Vladmir Potanin Foundation and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center (Russia).
Author of more than 120 research works in art criticism, museum and art pedagogy. Mr. Stolyarov has taken part in multiple national and foreign conferences and seminars.
