In 1988, she graduated from the Ludwik Solski State School of Drama (currently known as the National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków).

Affiliated with the Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre in Kraków since 1987, she also worked with the National Theatre in Warsaw between 1997 and 2000. She has more than sixty stage roles to her name, and forty more in the Polish Television Theatre.

She has also starred in many movies, appearing, e.g. in the title role of Faustina in the film by Jerzy Łukasiewicz (1994, Main Acting Award at the 3rd Riga International Film Festival) and that of Ewa in Daddy by Maciej Ślesicki (1995, the Golden Duck award of Film weekly). She has also won accolades at the Acting Art Festival in Kalisz (1989), the Stanisław Wyspiański Award (1989), two Polish Classics Festival awards in Opole (1994, 2001), and the Zbigniew Cybulski award (1995). In 2011, she received the City of Kraków award and, four years later, the Gloria Artis Silver Medal for Merit to Culture.

She has taught acting at the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts for 20 years and served as the school’s vice-rector in 2012–2016 and rector in 2016–2020.
