He graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television, the workshop of the famous Russian director Vitaly Aksenov.

After returning to China in 2006, he dealt with issues of cooperation in the field of cinema and television between China and Russia.

The Chinese-Russian film “Latittude 52”, shot with the participation of Du Liang in 2013, received the Chinese national Golden Rooster Award as “the best new name in

"Directing ”and“ Best Film ”, went through many nominations and won "Best New Director" at the International Film Festival Montreal, and was also awarded the prize of the Russian international military film festival.

Also in 2014, Du Liang received a gold award for the best project in the New Filmmakers category at the 67th Cannes Film Festival

with the script of the film "Bloody Far East". In addition, Du Liang's documentary directorial work for CCTV was highly rated and repeatedly received professional awards.

In 2017, by Du Liang and Airmita was held a Chinese-Russian Film Forum, and also was done significant work on popularization and promotion of Russian cinema and industry in such large venues as Beijing, Shanghai and Hainan film festivals.

In particular, the company presented and released in China the film "Going Vertical", which raised 13 million US dollars, which was a record for the rental of Russian

films in China. Also, due to the work of the Du Liang's team, the film “T-34” was presented and won two prizes at the Jackie Chan international festival of action films.

Airmita is the largest buyer and distributor of Russian films in China.
