Erik Valdes-Martines

Graduated from the Academy of the MIA of Russia in St. Petersburg as a lawyer, a graduate of the Institute of legislation and comparative law under the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow); accomplished “Protection of intellectual property in the era of new technologies” program”, USA (Washington, Salt Lake city, Los Angeles, Rochester, NY).

Director of the Association of rightholders for the protection and management of copyright in the sphere of art "UPRAVIS"; Director General Councillor on international issues of the Russian Public Organization "Russian Authors Society" (RAO); Deputy General Director, Head of the International Department of the Russian Public Organization "Russian Union of Rightholders" (RSP); Deputy General Director, Head of the international Department of the Russian Public Organization Russian Organization for Intellectual Property (VOIS).

Previously was a Head of Russian Phonographic Association (society for collective rights management, established by Universal Music, Warner Music, Sony Music, EMI and other music companies), Head of the International Department of the holding company "Videoservice" (Moscow), licensee of Disney and Columbia pictures in Russia.

Author of articles and scientific publications in copyright.

Lecturer of disciplines "International intellectual property law", "IT and IP Law";

permanent participant of expert working groups at the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation on intellectual property issues;

permanent spokesmen at various russian and international meetings and working panels on copyright protection, that are held also by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO, Geneva), CISAC (Paris), IFPI (London, SCAPR (Brussels), etc.
