Fabrizio Grifasi was born in Naples in 1960 and lives between Rome and Paris.

Currently General and Artistic Director of the Fondazione Romaeuropa, where he works since 1991 with different tasks: former managing director, then director of artistic production and then deputy director.

Classically trained, he began working in the issuer private Radio Città Futura in Rome from 1979 to 1985, first as an editor, then as head of the organization of concerts and musical programs.

He was producer for rock concerts and performing arts for diverse organizations and festivals such as Orestiadi di Ghibellina, Opera of Paris, National Theatre of Chaillot in Paris.

He was Managing Director of the Association EuropaCinema & TV from 1997 to 2001, for the organization of the eponymous film festival in Viareggio dealing with administration, management and marketing.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Romaeuropa and the Fondazione Fitzcarraldo and also partner of IETM, Réseau Varèse and the European network Temps d’Images and member of the Artistic Advisory Board of the Japan Foundation for the support of the program PAJ.

Since 2009 he is the artistic advisor for the dance program of the Foundation I Teatri of Reggio Emilia and the festival Aperto.

He was appointed Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres on June 17, 1992, by J. Lang, at that time Minister of Culture of the French Republic.

On the 2nd of June 2013, under proposal of the Members of Parliament, the president Giorgio Napolitano appointed him as ‘Ufficiale dell’Ordine al merito’ of the Italian Republic.
