Fan Dian

President of Central Academy of Fine Arts.
Prof. Fan Dian is President of Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and Chairman of China Artists Association.

Mr. Fan Dian was born in 1955 in Fujian Providence, China. He currently serves as President of CAFA, Chairman of China Artists Association, Vice President of Chinese Literature and Art Critics Association.

President Fan Dian commits research on the 20th Century Chinese Art, contemporary art criticism and exhibition curating, and art museology.

During his service as Director of NAMOC (National Art Museum of China), he initiated the idea of operating museum “Center on Public”, upgraded NAMOC’s professional capacities on academic research, exhibition curating, public cultural service and national art collection building-up. As Director of NAMOC, he led and curated numbers of large exhibitions reflecting the times, and continuously expand international art exchange.

The institute he currently serves as President, CAFA, is the most historical art academy in China. The curriculum in CAFA covers fields of Fine Art, Design, Architecture and Humanities, with widely established cooperative relations with many of reputed art academies worldwide.
