Georgy Kaptelin

Georgy Kaptelin born on 4 July 1977 in Moscow.

He graduated from the International School of the Department of Journalism of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

In 1997–2005 worked as an international editor and correspondent for the “Vremya” TV program at the Channel One Russia. He worked in many crisis areas of the Middle East: Iraq and the Palestinian territories.

Since 2005, he has been the Chief Editor of the Vesti+ and the morning edition of Vesti on Rossiya TV Channel.

From 2006 to 2013 — anchor of the major newscasts on the Rossiya24 channel.

He is the author of a number of My Planet programmes, many documentaries, as well as a documentary feature ‘The White Sun of Baikonur’. In 2013, he was Deputy Head of the Vesti Broadcasting Service on the Rossiya 1 channel.

Since 2014 — Deputy Editor-in-Chief of TASS Russia.

He speaks English, French, Polish and Ukrainian.
