Jean-Jacques Gueron

Collector of artworks of "non-official" Russian artists.
Started collecting in 1971–1972. Currently the collection comprises more than 700 artworks and focuses on "non-official" Russian artists since the mid-1950s, notably those who exiled to France — V. Yankilevsky, M. Chemiakin, O. Tselkov, L. Masterkova, O. Rabin, and others, many of whom he knew personally. In 2015, more than 120 works of 27 artists from the Collecctio Guéron were exhibited in the city of Mataro near Barcelona, in the Nau Gaudi.

Was born in Nice in 1943, lives in Paris. Studied Sciences and Technology at the Sorbonne University (Paris) and the University of Washington (Seattle). In 1969 interrupted his studies in order to take over a successful prêt-à-porter store in Paris belonging to his family. Haven’t had a special art education but, once started collecting, frequented the studios of artists before acquiring their work.
