Joshua Reiss is a Professor of Audio Engineering with the Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary University of London. He has published more than 200 scientific papers, including 5 best paper awards, and co-authored two books.
He is a former Governor of the Audio Engineering Society, chair of their Publications Policy Committee, and co-chair of the Technical Committee on High-resolution Audio. He founded the successful high-tech spin-out company, LandR, which supports musicians through online, automated music production services. He also recently co-founded the company FXive, delivering procedurally generated sound effects. He was recipient of QMUL’s 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He has investigated psychoacoustics, sound synthesis, multichannel signal processing, intelligent music production, and digital audio effects. His primary focus is on the use of state-of-the-art signal processing techniques for sound engineering and design. His team pioneered the field of Automatic Mixing. He maintains popular social media channels for scientific education and dissemination of research.
