Marco Kuhn is a Professor of Sound Synthesis and Computer Science for Musicians and the Program Director of the B.A. Audio Design study program at the Berlin School of Popular Arts (former hdpk), part of the SRH Berlin University of Applied Science. He's also the designer of the new Master's program Computing and the Arts which will start 2020. Previously he worked at the University of Applied Sciences in the INKA Research Group. He has worked for international audio software vendors such as Ableton, Native Instruments and interdisciplinary agencies as a software developer.
He works and lives in Berlin as an interdisciplinary artist and performer. His field of research is in the field of human-computer interaction in the context of sound. His developments have received recognition for multitouch and sensor-based interfaces for musicians. Musically, he is active in the field of experimental improvisation music and collaborated with artists like Ame Zek, Andre Vida, EPY, Ina Keckeis, The Buddy System and Golo Föllmer. He presented his performances, concerts and talks at LPM Amsterdam, Superbooth Berlin, SysMus19, 48h Neukölln, Illustrative Berlin, Postfuhramt Berlin within the framework of exhibitions, concerts and conferences.
