Was born in 1957 in Leningrad.

In 1976 was admitted to the Faculty of Philology (Department of Russian Language and Literature), Leningrad State University. Graduated cum laude in 1981. Since her graduation, taught at the Department of Soviet Literature, Faculty of Philology, LSU. Defended her Candidate Dissertation in 1990 and her Doctoral Dissertation in 2003.

Author of more than 500 research pieces, chief editor and compiler of the four-volume Biographic Bibliographic Dictionary “Literary Saint Petersburg” and several volumes from the “Pro et Contra” series, dedicated to renowned Russian prose writers of the 20th century.

From December 2005 to the present time — leading researcher, Institute of Philological Studies of the SPbU.
