Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda

Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Orumbekzoda Shamsiddin Shodibek was born on March 18, 1956 in Shugnan district of Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region of the Republic of Tajikistan.

He has an academic degree, he graduated from the Tajik State University in 1977, specializing in philology, as well as from the Institute of Political Science and Management of Tashkent in 1991, specializing in political sciences.

He began his labor activity in 1977 as a secondary school teacher. From 1978 to 1980 he worked as an editor in the Committee of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region, from 1980 to 1995 he also worked as an instructor, deputy head of department and deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the Council of People's Deputies of Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region. From 1995 to 1997 he held an appointment of the Head of Culture and Information Department in Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region, and from 1997 to 2000 he took up a position as a Chairman of the same Department.

From 2000 to 2011 he held different positions in Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region as head of Administration of the Chairman, editor of "Munis" newspaper, Chairman of Shugnan district, and Deputy Chairman of Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region.

From November 2011 to November 2013 he worked as an Adviser to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Personnel Policy.

He was awarded the Order of Glory, also he has honor of Excellent Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.

By Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated November 21, 2013, he was appointed the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
