Currently Sasa is Head of Culture Department at the Slovenia's national public broadcasting organization, RTV Slovenia. She is editing and producing different culture tv broadcasts from dailiy culture and arts news, weekly magazine programmes, talk shows, live broadcasts and documentary features.
Sasa, born in 1973, is a professional culture journalist, critic and editor with more than 20 years experience in television and print media. She completed a masters degree in Antropology and and a diploma degree in Journalism. She studied at the faculty of social sciences, Ljubljana University and postgraduate humanistic school Institutum Studiorum Humanitatis.
In 2008, she was awarded the prestigious European Journalist Fellowship and spent a year in Berlin, studying at the Freie Universität Berlin, where she completed the research on
Turkish-German cinema as a reflection of integration.
She started to work for RTV Slovenia in the nineties. As a journalist she is specialised in the field of contemporary art. Author of numerous tv broadcasts, stories and documentary
features and interviews with internationaly renown artists, writers, designers, architects, thinkers, curators. Sasa Savel Burkart is also author of theoretical texts in the field of contemporary art, cinema and media studies.
