Sergey Stepashin

Born on March 2, 1952 in Port Arthur (China). In 1973 graduated from the Higher School of Political Science of the USSR Ministry of the Interior, in 1981 — the Academy of Military and Political Science, in 2002 — the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation. Sergey Stepashin is a Candidate of Historical Sciences, Doctor of Laws, professor, former Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation (1997–1998), Minister of the Interior of the Russian Federation (1998–1999), Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation (1999), Chairman of the Audit Chamber (2000–2013). Since 2001 Sergey Stepashin has been a permanent President of the Russian Book Union.
