Siyavush Karimi

Born in 1954 in Baku. In 1972 graduated from Bulbul Special Music School, tar (string instrument) class by master musician Ahsan Dadashov. In 1972–1977 he continued his education in Uzeyir Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Conservatoire. Starting from 1979 he worked as soloist musician in the Rashid Behbudov State Song Theatre, as a music director of “Azconcert” State Music Agency, “Ashiglar” band, “Jangi” pop-folk ensemble, big band of Azerbaijan Television and Radio, as an artistic director of Rafig Babayev Music Studio at “Azerbaijanfilm” Film Studio. Since 2001 Siyavush Karimi hold the position of rector of Azerbaijan National Conservatory and Professor at the History and Theory of National Music Department.
