Graduate of the Faculty of Philology of Leningrad State University (1982), graduate school at IRLI RAS (1984). Researcher at the Institute of Slavic Studies at one of the oldest universities of Germany, which has long-standing partnership relations with SPbU. Diploma project at Leningrad University: “Creative Representation of Psychological Processes and Motivation in the Work of Chingiz Aytmatov”. Received her Candidate of Philological Sciences degree in the same institution. Her Candidate dissertation's title: “General Specifics of Miniature Stories by M. Prishvin in the 1930s–1950s” directed by V. V. Buznik, the most prominent specialist in Russian literature of the 20th Century.
Author of more than 100 research projects on the poetics of the Russian prose of the 20th century. Today she actively studies literary ties between Slavic countries, problems of intercultural communication, and poetics of the Russian prose of the 20th century.
