Veronika Prokofyeva is a great-granddaughter of composer N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, granddaughter of his younger son, Vladimir Nikolaevich Rimsky-Korsakov.
She was born in 1940. In 1944, after the end of siege, she travelled from Leningrad to Moscow with her Mother, Tatyana Vladimirovna Rimsky-Korsakov, to the celebrations of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov's centennial.
She graduated from the Department of Genetics of the LSU.
She is a radiobiologist and a participant of emergency containment at the Chernobyl NPP.
