Vicente Guallart

Archiect; Founder, Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia.
He was the Chief Architect of Barcelona City Council between 2011 and 2015 working for mayor Trias. During his mandate Barcelona was chosen European Capital of Innovation and winner of the Bloomberg Mayor's challenge Europe. He has been awarded in several competition in China including the Xianmihu or Sheshan project in Shenzhen (China). Recently he won the competition to built the tallest timber building in Spain.

He was founder of the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) in 2001 and Fab Lab Barcelona in 2007. He has been working in projects with MIT's Center for Bits and Atoms like Media House Project or Hyperhabitat. His company Guallart Architects has developed several urban, architectural and landscapes projects in different countries.
