Vyacheslav Malafeev

Former National football team player 2003–2012.
Vyacheslav was born in 1979 in Leningrad (now — Saint-Petersburg).

In 2001 Vyacheslav has earned his first medal: “Zenit” won 3d place in is a Russian football championship. In 2003 Vyacheslav has won 2d place with “Zenit”, got awarded with Lev Yashin Goalkeeper of the year prize and has become one of the 33 best players of Russian championship. In 2011 he was awarded as one of 5 best goalkeepers in the world by sports news-portal ESPN.

Since then Vyacheslav has gained plenty of awards, became honored master of sports of Russia, bronze finalist of EURO 2008, 4 times champion of Russian football tournament, owner of UEFA Cup in 2007–2008 and UEFA Super Cup in 2008.

Now he works as an assistant director of sports for FC “Zenit”.

Vyacheslav is one of scenario writers and a producer of a documentary series “Whole life in goalkeepers gloves” about best goalkeepers of the world.
