Yury Aksyuta is a Head of Music and Entertainment Programming of Channel 1 Russia.
Yury Aksyuta was born 27 April 1959 in Tallinn. He graduated from The Russian Institute of Theatre Arts - GITIS in 1980. He worked on USSR Gosteleradio from 1982 to 1990 as director and announcer. In 1990 he started working for the first Russian music radio station Europe Plus and became its Programming Director. In 2001 he became Producer of Europe Plus and from 2002 to 2003 was producer of "Hit FM" radio. Since 2003 he has been Head of music programming for Channel 1 Russia and since 2013 Head of Entertainment programming as well. He has produced a variety of shows which were one of the highest rated musical projects on Russian television: Star Academy, The Voice of Russia (as well as The Voice Kids and The Voice Senior ), Old (and New) Songs about the Eternal, Five Stars, Two Stars, The Golden Gramophone Award (a yearly national Russian music award) and many others. Since 2004 he has been Head of the Russian Delegation for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2009 he was Producer of Eurovision Song Contest that took place in Moscow.
